    Dubai Clinical Psychologist Maida Kajevic

    Maida Kajevic is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years of experience treating adults, adolescents and children.

    After graduating from well-known and highly reputed University of Nis with Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Maida enrolled her master studies and successfully obtained her Master’s Degree in Psychology, with main focus on Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. She was working in government health institutions as a Clinical Psychologist, licensed by Ministry of Health. Her work in the Psychiatry Hospital, as well as in Primary Healthcare Centre, gave her experience in treating individuals, couples and families to successfully overcome acute and chronic emotional difficulties. Her working place gave her opportunity to treat wide range of clients, both children and adults, doing individual and group therapies, as well as assisting doctors in making differential diagnosis. In addition to that, she was closely cooperating with schools, police, social work and rehabilitation centers.

    As an educational lecturer, she organized workshops in schools concerning Youth challenges.  As she strongly believes in mind and body connection, and that physical symptoms are influenced by thoughts and emotions, Maida was extensively involved in treatment clients with Psychosomatic difficulties. She did her clinical research in the field of Psychosomatic: Anxiety, Depression and Ego strength of patients with Diabetes Mellitus type 2. She was cooperating with Ministry of Health in Republic of Serbia, as main coordinator for special work group at Healthcare center with the goal to assist children who are exposed to trauma. Furthermore, she was participating in special working group responsible to help women exposed to physical violence and trauma. Moreover, she was coordinator of the group that deals with prevention of internet abuse among children. Maida was a member of evaluation committee for assessing vehicle skills and member of evaluation committee for carrying weapons. After moving to United Arab Emirates in 2017, Maida continued her professional career and education, by working as a Licensed Therapist and Psychologist with children, young adults and families.

    Maida strives to understand one’s concerns and assist in journey towards better emotional, physical and mental health. Her therapeutic approach focuses on encouraging and assisting clients to develop perseverance, increasing their self-confidence through evidence based modalities.

    She utilizes a range of therapeutic models (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Brief Psychodynamic Therapy) and offers an integrative approach, adapting the way she works according to her client’s needs. She assesses a wide range of difficulties among adults, doing testing and counselling, including social, behavioral and emotional problems, and neuropsychological assessment/evaluation of organic changes and cognitive functions.

    Maida is specialized in Psychometric testing, including: Personality tests (MMPI, BFPT, Beck Depression Inventory, Baron, Cornell Index, NEO PI R), Ability tests for Adults (WAIS, The Colored Progressive Matrices CPM, KNT, BETA test, Kohs Block Design Test), Projective technics (Machover test, TAT, The Rotter Incomplete Sentences Test ), Neuropsychology tests (Bender Gestalt, Benton, MMSE, ADHDT, RCFT), tests of general interests and Professional Orientation (Differential Aptitude Test DAT, Career Interest Inventory CII), as well as children’s ability tests (ADOS, WISC, Binet -Simon).
