Taking the first step towards seeking therapy or finding the right Psychologist can be an overwhelming step to make. It can be clouded by an unclear perception of what therapy is like, what to expect from it and what outcomes one can hope for. Psychological interventions are well recognized for their significant and positive impact on the quality of our lives as they help us foster coping strategies, problem solving skills and the recognition of our maladaptive behavioral & cognitive patterns. While difficult life experiences and the strive for relief may be
the catalyst towards seeking therapy, Shadan encompasses a holistic approach that defies the notion of defining ourselves based on our current struggles or perceived shortcomings. She believes growth and transformation happen when we build a strong foundation based on a trusting therapeutic connection that provides the safe space for self-exploration and the awakening of our courage to take on adversity. Utilizing an eclectic approach of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Shadan upholds a client-centered strategy that is tailored to each person’s individualized needs.
