Prof. Dr. Felix Schmidt is an outstanding German Neurologists with over 20 Years of professional experience in all fields of Neurology.
Prof. Schmidt is Head of the Department of Neurology at Brandenburgklinik and responsible for approximately 300 neurological patients. The clinic covers all types of neurological disorders with a focus on cerebrovascular diseases. Felix Schmidt is also the Medical Director of Brandenburgklinik with more than 1000 inpatients and responsible for 5 departments including the departments of neurology, cardiology, orthopedics, geriatrics and psychosomatics.
His areas of interest as a neurologist cover all clinical fields including stroke and its prevention, inflammatory peripheral and central nervous system disorders, headache and migraine, neurodegenerative disorders, polyneuropathies and neuromuscular disorders. In addition to being a general Neurologist his major interests are neuroimmunological disorders. Felix Schmidt is an expert in the field of Multiple Sclerosis and member of the medical advisory board of the German Multiple Sclerosis Society.
With extensive training over 15 years at Charité – University Hospitals Berlin, Prof. Schmidt is well equipped to diagnose and treat a broad range of neurological conditions. He performed his medical education at Charité – University Medicine Berlin (Germany), the University Hospital Zürich (Switzerland) and at the Université Paris Descartes (Paris-Sorbonne, France). He performed all of his neurological specialist training for the German-Board certification at the Department of Neurology at Charité – University Hospitals Berlin. He is trained in all fields of neurological diagnostics and has a special interest in neurovascular ultrasound.
His research focus are neuroimunological disorders. He received the clinician scientist grant from Stiftung Charité (Charité Foundation) from 2018 to 2021. He also worked in 2016 and 2021 as a research fellow at the Department of Neurology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Chicago, USA) and from 2015 to 2017 at NeuroCure, a Cluster of Excellence of Charité Berlin. In 2019 he was appointed Assistant Professor (Habilitation) at the Department of Experimental Neurology at Charité University Medicine Berlin. Since 2023 Felix Schmidt is appointed full professor of Neurology at Medical School Berlin where he is involved with lots of passion in academic teaching. Felix Schmidt is a member of numerous scientific societies and reviewer for several scientific journals like Multiple Sclerosis and the European Journal of Neurology.
