Nurdan Kozan (Turkish Board Certified)
Nurdan is a licensed professional psychologist with over a decade of dedicated experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals facing diverse psychological challenges, across different cultural backgrounds. Nurdan’s expertise spans various mental health settings, including hospitals, private clinics, and educational institutions in Turkey and the UAE.
Nurdan completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Koc University in Turkey, and she pursued her master’s in Clinical Psychology at Leiden University in the Netherlands. Currently, Nurdan is dedicated to her PhD in Psychosocial and Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex, UK. She remains committed to continuous professional development, staying updated on the latest advancements in clinical psychology.
She takes a holistic approach to therapy, tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each patient, guiding them through their therapeutic journey with respect and empathy.
Nurdan has cultivated a strong theoretical foundation in various research-based psychotherapeutic approaches, assessment techniques, and research methodologies. Her expertise encompasses cognitive-behavioral therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. While she has a particular interest in approaching patients with a psychodynamic theory foundation, she firmly believes in tailoring her therapeutic approach to meet the needs of each patient.
Having worked with diverse populations, Nurdan addresses a wide range of mental health concerns, including family difficulties, major life changes, and work-related challenges. She is skilled in helping individuals cope with distress and enhancing overall mental well-being. Nurdan has also worked with employee assistance programs providing short term psychotherapy for individuals. Nurdan’s approach extends beyond individual therapy, as she also provides counseling for parenting challenges and conducts seminars and workshops on topics such as mental health enhancement, emotional difficulties, anxiety management, and coping with familial, work, or educational challenges.
