  • Profile

Letizia is an Italian Board-certified systemic therapist who specializes in working with individuals, couples and families, across both private and public healthcare sectors.

She helps clients identifying the interactive dynamics that trigger and maintain symptoms by establishing a safe environment to explore daily challenges, coping mechanisms, and communication styles.
Therapy can help clients disentangle the reasons behind such symptoms, alleviate strain on each family member, and provide broader insight into relationships, expectations, and objectives.

Adopting a Systemic Perspective means looking at presenting problems not just as isolated occurrences, but rather as part of an intricate set of interactions. These are, in turn, developed and maintained within our system – in our family of origin, with our romantic partner, through preferred emotions management strategies and lenses through which we experience the world. Therefore, developing deeper self-awareness of this complexity is the first step toward healing and gaining healthier coping mechanisms, and gradually increase a sense of control over emotions and responses. In doing so, individuals and family members gain a different perspective on their own and each other’s roles in perpetuating an unhealthy and painful dynamic, paving the way for new interactive patterns and more adaptive coping strategies.

Common topics addressed in therapy may include mood disorders, anxiety, addictions, personality and eating disorders, dysfunctional patterns of interaction – including domestic violence, emotional abuse and trust issues – and discernment counseling for couples.

Letizia also treats trauma and dissociative symptoms using various approaches, such as Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), integrated with Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy (IRT), Structural Therapy and Internal Family Systems Theory (IFS).

Letizia holds a BSc in Behavioral Science and Psychology of Social Interactions from the University of Bologna, and an MSc Cum Laude in Clinical and Social Psychology from La Sapienza University of Rome.

She further specialized in Systemic Family and Couple Therapy at King’s College London, and earned a second-level Master’s in Emergency Psychology and Psychtraumatology from the European Institute of Psychtraumatology in Milan, complemented by multiple EMDR certifications.
Upon completing her degrees, she worked as a Systemic Couple and Family Therapist for the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) at St. Thomas’ Hospital and Maudsley Hospital, and as a Systemic Practitioner at Centro Sammarinese di Andrologia. She then joined the San Marino State Hospital’s Psychiatry & Psychology Department, in both the Children unit and the Adults and Couples unit, while also collaborating with the State Tribunal and the Ministry of Health and Social Security.

At the heart of Letizia’s practice is the belief that awareness is the first step toward change. By helping clients make sense of their experiences and uncover unhelpful patterns, she supports them in opening space for new ways of relating – to themselves and to others –, fostering greater authenticity and emotional freedom.
