Within this period 243,611 cases were diagnosed with dementia. The scientists compared the incidence of dementia with the proximity to streets with heavy traffic<\/p>\n<h2>The Results<\/h2>\n<p>The closer resident\u2019s life to busy streets, the higher the dementia risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 0 \u2013 50m to busy streets: Dementia risk increased by: 7%<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 51 &#8211; 100m to busy streets: Dementia risk increased by: 4%<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 101 \u2013 200m to busy streets: Dementia risk increased by: 2%<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2022 &gt;300m to busy streets: Dementia risk increased by: 0%<\/p>\n<h2>The Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Air pollutants can get into the blood stream and lead to inflammation, which is linked with cardiovascular disease and possibly other conditions such as diabetes.
