Researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston found out that people, having up to four cups of coffee per day, have a reduced risk to die from stroke, heart attack, diabetes or suicide.<\/em><\/p>\n

The study<\/h2>\n

The study <\/a>included 208,501 participants. These participants had to fill out a questionnaire about their coffee consumption on regular basis. From early 1990\u2019s till 2012 31,956 participants died.<\/p>\n

The researchers linked coffee intake (caffeinated, decaffeinated, or both) to causes of death.<\/p>\n

The findings<\/h2>\n

Participants drinking 1-4 cups coffee per day had a lower risk of dying than participants not drinking coffee at all. Most common causes of death were: heart disease, neurological disease and suicide.<\/p>\n

What we don\u2019t know<\/h2>\n

The researchers found the link between coffee drinking and reduces risk of death. But they don\u2019t know why, yet. The mechanism behind this link is still unknown and needs more research.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe main takeaway is that regular consumption of coffee can be incorporated into a healthy diet,\u201d said senior author Dr. Frank Hu of the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston.<\/p>\n
