There is no cure for Alzheimer\u2019s. Currently researchers all over the globe are trying to find a way to heal the disease. Almost every week new findings are published. But so far there is no cure in sight.<\/p>\n

What can you do? At the moment we can only try to prevent Alzheimer\u2019s, delay the onset or slow down the process. How can this be done? In simple words, live a brain healthy life. Researchers found that activity in anyway, physical, cognitive or emotional is beneficial.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/1″][vc_single_image image=”16356″ alignment=”center” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”yes” img_link_target=”_blank” img_size=”full”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n

One possibility that combines these 3 types of activity is Ping Pong. German Neuroscience Center\u2019s Professor Dr. med. Krieger said: \u2018\u2019being physically active can have a significant impact on the wellbeing of people with dementia and table tennis is a fantastic low-to-medium impact exercise that requires the brain to be constantly engaged. Players are required to calculate the opponent\u2019s next move and keep a watchful eye on the ball, which necessitates spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination and peripheral vision.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Based on this the German Neuroscience Center in collaboration with the non-profit organisation 4get-me-not Alzheimer\u2019s and DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY MALL is hosting a two-day table tennis free play and tournament on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September <\/strong>at Dubai Festival City Mall, in the Festival Square area. The event is taking place to raise awareness of the condition in a fun and active environment, whilst highlighting the link between table tennis and brain health in the run up to Word Alzheimer\u2019s Day (21st September).<\/p>\n
