\"stroke<\/a>This week we get serious about stroke prevention. Did you know that one person is believed to suffer from a stroke every hour in the UAE? The incidence of stroke is rising, and worldwide, it is the second leading cause of death for people over the age of 60.<\/p>\n

Alarmingly, here in the UAE stroke patients are around 20 years younger than the worldwide average. On Friday December 12, the German Neuroscience Center in Dubai Healthcare City (04 429 8578) is offering stroke check-ups free of charge. Book yourself in by emailing mail@gnc-dubai.com<\/a>. The service takes about 20 minutes, and can help calculate the ten-year risk for individuals, before advising on the necessary steps towards prevention.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
